All the praises be to Allah, the God of the Worlds and peace and blessings be upon the Prophet, our Lord and Prophet, Muhammad (PBUH) and upon his family and companions. Talking about the biographies of scholars, righteous people and workers in the field of Da’wa and writing about their efforts, services and scientific and intellectual contribution is something that people long for, hearts are comfortable with, every envious person desires to hear it and everybody who wishes to reform and call for the path of truth, because in the lives of great people there are lessons, example and experiences that every intelligent person should benefit from the experiences of distinguished people, the path of reformers and of the good and philanthropists, and It is very heartening for me and gratifying to talk about the value and peaks of humanitarian work in our Islamic world who is highly motivated and we dive into the seas of his giving and draw inspiration from his depth of experience, sincerity of work, abundant giving, and magnificent achievements and that personality is His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Matouq Al-Matouq, one of the most prominent men in giving for his religion, his country and his nation in the State of Kuwait. No charitable work in Kuwait is mentioned without bringing to mind the name of His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Matouq Al-Matouq - Chairman of the International Islamic Charity Organization in Kuwait - Special Advisor to the Secretary-General of the United Nations - Vice President of the International Islamic Council for Da’wa and Relief - May God grant him health and well-being. The biography of His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Matouq Al-Matouq - bears prominent titles in various works that he carried out and the positions he held, which should be documented and preserved in order to remain a beacon for those seeking excellence and striving towards progress, and despite my good knowledge of His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Matouq Al-Matouq and his personality that embraces wisdom, vision, experience, giving, achievement and devotion, I stand puzzled before this rich sea in the record of charitable work and this towering mountain in the space of advocacy work. The statement is almost incapable - truly - of noting his huge achievements, the pen would hesitate to document the biography and career of this virtuous, rich and giving personality and the evidence of his achievements is evident even outside the borders of his homeland, Kuwait. Over more than twenty years of his long life, during which I witnessed him since he was Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in the State of Kuwait in 2003 until now, where His Excellency participated in the Board of Directors of the International Islamic Charity Organization in Kuwait, where he was elected to chair it in 2010, re-elected for a second term in 2014, for a third term in 2018 and for a fourth term in 2022. How he directed the assistance of the International Islamic Charitable Organisation and other institutions that he headed or was a member of to serve the needy in Kuwait and abroad in all Arab and Islamic countries, especially in Iraq, Syria and Yemen. His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al-Matouq also participated in the International Islamic Council for Da’wa and Relief - which is based in the Arab Republic of Egypt - and is headed by His Eminence the Grand Imam, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, and His Excellency was chosen as Vice President of the Council for several sessions until now, and how many generous white hands in supporting the journey of this blessed Council, which includes in its membership more than fifty international Islamic organizations spread throughout the Muslim world, concerned with the issues of Muslims in various parts of the earth in the fields of advocacy, relief, education, youth, women, children, media, human rights, Islamic minorities etc., the latest of which was the International Islamic Charity Organization hosted the 68th meeting of the Council’s Presidium in October 2022. This is in addition to the international and regional conferences in which we met that discuss the issues and concerns of the Islamic world, including the annual conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in the Arab Republic of Egypt, in addition to the conferences and seminars held in a number of Islamic centers in Europe, America and Asia. In conclusion - I ask God Almighty to multiply in the Islamic nation the likes of His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Matouq Al-Matouq - who is one of the great men of justice who are faithful to their religion and concerned with the affairs of the weak, the poor and the destitute throughout our Islamic world, which contributes to alleviating the suffering of the poor and the victims of disasters and wars, wishing His Excellency God’s protection and good health and well-being, and the State of Kuwait more progress and prosperity under the wise and rational leadership of His Highness Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah - Amir of the State of Kuwait.
